Gawler Ranges Wilderness Safaris
Amazingly beautiful Outback.
Gawler Ranges Safaris offer an amazing diversity and profusion of wildlife in numbers rarely seen elsewhere in Australia.
The area has an extraordinary range of wildly beautiful outback country boasting contrasting colours of red sands and rocky gorges, blue skies and the glistening white of massive Lake Gairdner. It is one of few places that three large species of kangaroos can be seen together, and in amazing numbers.
In the evening your clients can escape to their large two bedroom en-suite luxury tent, or join us for a sunset drink on the shore of nearby Sturt Lake before another great dinner at Kangaluna.
Together with over 100 species of birds, wild koalas at Port Lincoln and swimming with sea lions and dolphins at Baird Bay, we have almost everything in wild animal types all on a 3 or 4 day tour. It is the realised dream of Geoff Scholz, a naturalist whose passion for combining tailored outback adventures with luxury camping expeditions has defined a new Australian style.
Location
The Gawler Ranges, 600kms to the north west of Adelaide on the Eyre Peninsula, is Outback Australia at its best. The diverse terrain changes from arid to semi desert and back, while the age old volcanic landscape is spectacular with its gorges and weathered rocky outcrops.
Getting there
Tours depart from Port Lincoln on the Eyre Peninsula, which is a 35 minute flight from Adelaide.
What makes us special
Experience Australia at its best –from climbing a dormant volcanic landscape in the Gawler Ranges to swimming with sea lions and dolphins in Baird Bay, there is a new adventure at every turn.
